Encyclopedia of Sex - 1954
New York; Cadillac Publishing Company
Hardcover. 444 pages. Dark blue faux leather with gilt lettering; light rubbing to all edges, corners bumped. Some disconnection between binding on inside cover. Dust jacket in poor condition but overall book itself is fair. Text is overall clean and bright.

An intriguing 1954 illustrated edition of the Encyclopedia of Sex, offering a distinctly mid-century exploration of human anatomy, relationships, cultural attitudes, and scientific understanding of sexuality. Equal parts educational artifact and cultural time capsule, this volume reflects how knowledge, social norms, and visual storytelling around the human experience have evolved over the decades.

Rich illustrations, period typography, and beautifully aged paper give the book a quiet charm well suited to curiosity cabinets, eclectic libraries, studio inspiration shelves, or anyone drawn to the intersection of science, history, and the beautifully peculiar.

Expected vintage wear — including gentle page toning, light cover wear, and minor structural delicacy — is consistent with its age and contributes to its authentic character rather than detracting from it.

    _________________________

This item is a genuine vintage or antique collectible and may exhibit natural signs of age, patina, wear, or structural delicacy consistent with its history. Such characteristics are considered part of the object’s authenticity and are not defects. Please review all photographs and descriptions carefully, as the item shown is the exact piece you will receive.

With natural history specimens specifically, minor shedding, feather or scale loss, subtle shifts, or small organic changes may occur over time as part of the natural lifecycle of once-living materials. This is normal and not considered damage. All specimens are ethically sourced from responsible providers; however, if you have any questions or concerns regarding sourcing, provenance, or handling practices, we warmly encourage you to inquire prior to purchase.

All items are professionally packed with collector-grade care using protective materials appropriate for fragile and irreplaceable objects. Once an item has been transferred to the shipping carrier and tracking has been issued, transit responsibility rests with the carrier. While we will reasonably assist by providing documentation for claims when appropriate, we cannot guarantee carrier handling, transit time, environmental exposure, delays, loss, or damage occurring during shipment.

Tracking information is always provided. The purchaser assumes responsibility for monitoring delivery status and initiating any necessary carrier inquiries or claims once shipment is in transit.

If an item arrives visibly damaged, notification must be made in writing within 48 hours of confirmed delivery, accompanied by clear photographs of:

  • The item
  • Interior packaging
  • Exterior packaging
  • Shipping label
  • Unboxing documentation when available

Failure to provide timely documentation may void eligibility for claim assistance.

Optional shipping insurance is available upon request prior to purchase and is strongly recommended for higher-value items.

All items are sold strictly as-is, final sale. Due to the rarity, age, and collectible nature of our inventory:

  • Returns, exchanges, and refunds are not accepted
  • Condition variations consistent with age are not grounds for return
  • Environmental damage occurring after delivery is the buyer’s responsibility

  • You have reviewed all listing images and descriptions carefully.
  • You understand the inherent fragility and aging characteristics of collectible objects.
  • You accept responsibility for proper care, storage, and preservation after delivery.
  • You agree to these terms in full.

We welcome inquiries prior to purchase and are happy to discuss condition details, specimen sourcing, or combined-purchase considerations.
